The Background Story
We made this soap when we first started our business 11 years ago. As time past, we introduced other types of soap and discontinued Kitchen soap for quite a long time. However, I was approached by a lady who had bought several bars of Kitchen soap a long time ago. She loved it as it removed strong odours from ones hands i.e. onions and garlic. She had used up all her stock and was disappointed I didn’t make it anymore.
A few weeks later, I was walking with one of my friends when we stopped at a local cafe/bakery for a coffee. I noticed they were giving their coffee grounds away free. I decided to take some to see if I could make Kitchen soap with them.
Several weeks later, after the soap had cured, I contacted the lady and she was overjoyed I had made some Kitchen soap. I also took some along to the local cafe/bakery for their staff, who over delighted with it, and they are going to let me know if it takes away the smell of yeast. The owner was also very pleased their waste was being put to good use.
I have not added any fragrance to this soap as the coffee gives it a pleasant aroma.
