I have spent the morning making a small batch of Christmas candles. These are all 150g and will burn for approximately 35/40 hours. I have made Orange & Cinnamon (essential oils), Jasmine & Frankincense and Cranberry, Orange & Cinnamon. I will post some photos of the finished products when I have labelled and packed them.

A few photos to show how I make soap bars. I use the cold process method, which is a rather protracted but I prefer the finished product. I wrap the soaps in a towel and stack into crates. The allows the soap to breathe but also helps to retain the fragrance in the soap. It then takes between 4 and 6 weeks to cure, after which it is weighed, hand wrapped and labelled then, hey presto, it is ready for sale!

We are not quite sure where this year has gone! It has been a very unusual year but we cannot believe we are into September already.
We were asked for Christmas candles yesterday, 5th September! I think that has to be a record, but I think it is probably wise in these uncertain times.
I have added Orange & Cinnamon soy wax candle to the shop now and I will be making more this coming week.

Thank you Ian for requesting my goat’s milk, oatmeal & orange soap. I have not made any for a while and really enjoyed making a batch this morning. While it has not been clinically tested, several people, including Ian, have commented it is good for eczma.
Take a look at the colour created by the orange essential oil. This will fade a little during the curing process which takes 4-6 weeks.

We have now replenished our stock of Rock Salt & Driftwood soy wax candles. They have a very fresh fragrance, which reminds me of the sea breeze, particularly in Cornwall. The candle will burn for 50 hours and is supplied in a kraft recyclable box.
We have been busy the last few days making stock for Christmas. Yes, we know it’s only August but it takes us a long time to make it all. We now need some room to store it. We have reduced the price of some of our candles. They can be found in the Clearance section in our shop.

I have enjoyed a very wet Monday morning making Lavender & Geranium soy wax candles and diffusers. It smells beautiful in the workshop and uplifts one of such a wet day.
My candles are made with soy wax so they will burn for approximately 50 hours, the fragance is in all the candle, not just the top, so it will give a lovely scent all the way down, even when cold.
The diffusers are made with a plant based carrier oil. This does not evaporate as quickly as alcohol. This is very often used in diffusers, hence why some evaporate so quickly. Our diffusers will last for at least 6 months, some customers have told me they last 12 months.

We have just added a new batch of Lime, Basil & Mandarin liquid soap to our website.
This is very popular as it does not have any SLS or salt and will not dry ones hands, particularly during this time of so much hand washing. Some of the pumps are slightly different to the ones shown in the picture and may need two presses on the pump as the dosing chamber is not slightly smaller.

We will be attending two markets on Saturday, Cirencester Indoor Craft Market from 10.00am- 4.30pm and Nailsworth Farmer’s market from 9.30am to 2.30pm. Both markets will be operating a one-way system which works very well and we will have hand sanitizer on our stall if required. Come and enjoy some browsing and a smile awaits you.
